US ground forces are starting to trade in Up-Armored Humvees and the MRAP RG31 in for the MRAP Cougar. The Cougar is actually an USMC vehicle. This particular vehicle is better suited for the terrain in Afghanistan - has a lower center of gravity to reduce rollover mishaps, wider footprint and improved armor. I have two of them for my team; impressive vehicle. A Cougar struck an IED a couple weeks ago that was brought to my FOB after the event. The rear suspension was completely blown off.

I am sharing this with you because someone I know personally, and more importantly a Michigan Army National Guard citizen soldier, was in this vehicle. He, as well as 4 other Army warriors, walked away from the blast without any serious injuries.
